HD DVD and Blu-ray, the front runners to this high definition format war. The two have been going at it for some time now, even though HD DVD was the first to hit store shelves, it seems that Blu-ray has the slight edge at the moment. Nothing only is it being spearheaded by Sony's PS3, among other devices, but it seems Blu-ray is gaining more exclusive access within the brick and mortar stores *coughblockbuster/targetcough*. Then again as far as sales go, HD DVD isn't all that far behind Blu-ray.
Plus, with the fact Blu-ray has greater support from the studios, does this mean HD DVD will go the way of Betamax? Bottom line, who do you think will win this "war"?

Digital distribution will conquer everything in the end. It will surpass all forms of transfer formats.

I agree with Kana. >_> Besides, I could care less about either. I don't care if something is higher quality than another. If I can watch, enjoy, then I'm all good.

Yeah, digital distribution will eventually take over, but I guess it's more of a question of right now. Perhaps even more so, between HD DVD and Blu-ray. The only reason I put digital distribution as a choice was because I figured Kana would have opted for that one either way. :-p So let me revise it, which high definition format will win for the time being, HD DVD, Blu-ray, or just plain ol' DVD, in terms of a physical media.
