Silent Hill Movie!

Surprised I haven't seen this thread floating around anywhere for Entertainment. Who here's a fan of the Silent Hill Games? Well if so then this is the thread for you. Some people like myself thought this movie was going to be "THE BEST DAMN MOVIE" ever, well I will admit that after watching it, it was an awesome movie, definitely worth watching, but unless you play the games, you might not understand what the movie is about. Trust me on this, my g/f never played the games, quite a few friends never played the games but they all watched it and were like "WTF" hahahah

From what I saw, there was much connection between the movie and the first Silent Hill game released for Playstation.

eh...I dont agree with some of what you said...

I played the game...and I still didnt understand the whole thing....

wish they followed the game script more...

the beginning when she was in the town was the only part that followed the game script really....everything else was wack.

And the ending when everything got settled....was no good:mad:

I've never played the game, and I haven't watched the movie yet. I tend to stay away from horror films. Cept ones like Resident Evil, cause it kinda has ass kicking in it. >_>

I havent seen RE movies, but Ive played all the games...

I gotta say the Movie seems more of Action than Horror...and I really wanted the movies to be more horror than action.....but thats just me....

I've seen both Re movies they where not that good thou i did like the Silent Hill movie I only played 1 Silent Hill game and that was The Roombut i thought it was awsome but all of my friends where like WTF!!!! thou i believe it's a good movie.

I love Silent Hill.

And although this movie was not that of the century, for a video game based movie, it is definitely a step in the right direction.

The plot, I believe heavily followed that of the original Playstation 1 game, for the reason that it contained the same elements. It might be hard to noticed because the story, rather the origins of the town and its darkness were changed, but the key elements were there.
Or most of them were included. The story in the game is much more complex then the movie, so I can understand why a lot of things were left out, such as the drugs and the true role of Lisa, the nurse.

Such a plot should be hard enough to translate I would think, so I found it to be very decent work.

I could complain about the actors, and personalities given to some characters, which were not very well developed, but the one thing that truly irked me..

Symbolism. The Silent Hill series heavily rely on symbolisms to tell the story, and these are always put in interesting and intelligent concept.
But in the movie, much of that was lost, as I had feared on its announcement...

Pyramid Head, as impressive as he is, is completely a key role in the plot for Silent Hill 2. He was important for the story. But in the movie...they just put him there for the sake of imagery...?

Well..I feel bad to complain, and stupid, because there are a lot of things I do not think I grasp from the plot in the first game, and something about the ending of the movie has me somewhat bamboozled..but none the less, I liked it.

They could have messed it up, but the job was well constructed.
