This just recently came back up in a discussion my brother and I had about the Elderscrolls games. We were talking about Oblivion (the newest Morrowind game), and it reminded us. The company that makes it, Bethesda Softworks; well, a long time ago, my mom mentioned that she used to work there in 1996-1997. She may not have taken part in much, but its still awesome to have a family member that used to work in a gaming company.

Pretty neat too, how Bethesda Softworks' headquarters is only about 30 minutes away from my house.

Do you have any cool gaming related background stuff?

Ah, you guys are lucky...

As for me, doubtebly. Seeing as how I'm first-generation on my mother's side (iViva Italia!) and my father is a history major, I highly doubt anyone in my immediate family had anything to do with that sort o' thing.

Meh.... does not inspire confidence for my future... heh...

There would be no way. XD

My dad has a PhD in some random chemical thing. Mom has a Masters in computer programming. Closest they come to video games is buying them for me, and occasionally my dad plays Double Dash!! with my 4 year old sister.

Its funny when parents play videogames with us gamers. My mom tried Resident Evil once. She couldn't figure out how to get out of the room.

And my uncle would always fool around in Goldeneye. I'd play Bond, he'd play Natalya. And he kept chasing me around in the levels going "Ooo, Bond, I love you!" And obviously, I was running the hell away. But he's a cool gamer, he plays videogames a lot.

Actually, it's not someone that is in my family, but one of my dad's friend was actually a close friend with one of the people involved in getting Atari started. Though I can't quite remember which one it was. Other than that nothing that I know of comes to mind.

My parents would be the last people on Earth to be involved in the videogame industry. Both of them have PhDs and do medical research and don't exactly fancy games.

My dad got honours in english literature.
And my mother is a social worker.

Good yeah, nothing to do with games, either of them.

No..not of which I know...although my aunt works for Teletoon, if such a word is famiilliar to anyone. I suppose it is the closest thing.
(She animates character movements on computer for quite a few cartoons.)

But, like some other people here mentioned, my father played video games with me. I had a TurboGrafix 16, and he played with me for a bit.
In fact, when he baught it for me, he was the one to show me how to play the game, for I did not know a thing of video games back then.
My father also loved any games that had anything to do with outer space, such as Galaga 90 or Space Harrier. But eventually, he stopped playing the games with me, he had too many other things to do.
Terminus was all sad. :(

But it is alright, because it was him who introduced me to gaming in the first place...

Nope, I have no gaming background. My brothers and I are pretty much the first generation in our family that play video games. But I think my friend's father works for like an importing company that imports games from Japan or something... so yeah. But for me, nada.
