This game looked great in 1996 but in 2002 it looked so much better. I got the original game a week before my 15th birthday. The opening movie is definitely one of the best I've ever seen. Although the one in the remake is much more serious, I laugh at the noises the S.T.A.R.S. members make in the first game as they run through the forest.

Well I'll start by saying that the pre-rendered graphics do make this game look special, unlike all the 2D crap they used in the 1990s. Mind you, that is a bit harsh because back then, such graphics were very important. The graphical changes in the remake really does make for a superb horror game because you feel like you're in the mansion yourself. I got a GameCube in 2002 just to play this game alone.

If graphics were a woman, they would probably be Amy Weber. They're that beautiful. The amount of detail put into the game is very special. Capcom have never disappointed me yet and they probably never will. They definitely are dedicated to bringing us the best games around and even if they don't spend a big budget, we've seen classic examples of their talent.

How many other games make you jump like this one? The wind, the trees, the paintings, the monsters. The best part is, these zombies don't stay down like obedient boys unless they are destroyed. Now every entry to the series has seen zombies get quicker and smarter, but never have they been as fearsome as they are in the remake. Being a S.T.A.R.S. agent proved to be messy work, but it would have been even more messy if they had their way with you.

Everything looks and sounds so real. Sadly, the interactive environments weren't introduced until Resident Evil 4 gave us that kind of freedom. I thought everything else was magnificent though. Now the graphics in Resident Evil 4 were also amazing, but in the remake they definitely are very appropriate for the Resident Evil saga.

The acting in the original game is very infamous. I mean, the whole picking locks thing between Jill and Barry is best forgotten. Although I used to cringe when Chris finds Rebecca in the rest room. They sounded really nervous and I thought Rebecca was trying to flirt with him.

We definitely need more great games like this. I've played through a lot of creepy games but nothing can topple this. I am usually against remakes, but this remake remains true to the original game. However, I do think the Lisa Trevor character was slighty wasted because she was nothing more than a glorified extra in the plot.

You can use this thread to talk about both the original game and the remake. I often believe the director's cut is harder because there is more zombies and less bullets. Although a cheat exists, the game is still brutal.

Dunno if you're talking about one specific RE, or just general. In general, Resident Evil is awesome. Its one of the best horror games around, though that's why I don't play horror games, cause they scare the crap outta me.

Honestly, I've only ever palyed 4 but I did like that game. I probably wouldn't like the others because Re4 s so differetnt.

Then you need to get your butt up town and buy em' all. :D

Nah, I'm only joking. But in all fairness, Resident Evil 4 made the others seem less reputable because Capcom changed the series' overall game style to suit action fans, because the camera angles, key puzzles and combat was becoming stale.

RE4 is boring..the game setup however is good. Hopefully capcom makes RE5 much better than RE4...since I heard its going to be Chris Redfield....

I've played all the RE...except for 3...since I lost the game and it was for PS....but I have RE1 for GC, and RE2 for PS, and RE4 for GC...and RE0 for GC..
